Today's coaching session (self-esteem group)

To add to the takeaways that Adri already described bellow:

1) Having less text and more pictures, given the emotion pictures bring to the presentation.

2) Having an "unexpected" factor. In our presentation was a contrasting photo, but it could be something else with the intent to surprise and call the attention.

3) Include some data to support our cause (e. g. statistics related to self-esteem).

  1. Another take away I got from our conversation was that using music is very powerful. It connects with emotion, which is something we all need to be trying to achieve in our story-telling. It's important, however, to realize that if it is a well-known song, the audience will bring their own preconceptions, associations, memories, etc. and these may or may not be the emotions you want to evoke. The best case is to have someone compose music that is created to go with your piece (perhaps connecting with someone at the music school?). Also, in contrast to the ethnography, where using music of the subject is a good idea, here, you should focus on music that connects with the audience.
